Volunteer Spotlight Mindy Jones Limitless Leader

Mindy Jones TXWSW Limitless Leaders Campaign-17

TXWSW salutes its all-volunteer staff of women who are leaders in their field and make the time to contribute to our collective success. They lead by example and are generous with their time and resources in helping others. They are truly Limitless Leaders.
Please join us in recognizing Mindy Jones, a Limitless Leader. We are grateful for all that she does!

Why did you choose to become a volunteer?
Six years ago, I was invited to a Texas Wall Street Women event and I came away feeling that I wanted to spend more time with everyone that I met. All of the conversations felt purposeful and authentic. It felt that I would find mentors and friends here…as there were smart, talented women to admire and emulate. Perhaps I could give back as well by mentoring others-the mission of empowerment and development is so incredibly worthy. We have the privilege of supporting the YWPN (Young Women’s Preparatory Network) and it makes me proud to know that TXWSW are supporting another successful generation of diverse leaders.
How have networking groups like Texas Wall Street Women helped your career?
Regardless of the technology available to us today, there’s no replacement for relational skills and interpersonal communication. I love being around amazing people because I know I will leave with a new idea, a new point of view or a new concept to consider. TXWSW does a great job of cultivating a multigenerational membership—many of us are at different points in our careers and in life, so I’ve been able to tap into many resources that have helped me as a businesswoman. As an entrepreneur, younger professional women and students have reached out with questions about starting a business or choosing investors, or other topics. It’s rewarding to be able to give back to others. And then there’s the content—the speakers are excellent and current and topical. Really inspiring.
What future change would you like to see in the finance industry (or your industry) and how will you contribute to that change?
I’ve worked hard to start and build a company that is impacting an industry that was overlooked for a long time.  As a caregiver, I had an early glimpse of how draining and stressful it was to manage a loved one’s complex health and lifestyle needs. In response, I started a company to help people and organizations manage those issues of caregiving and healthcare navigation…thus, I believe that my team’s everyday work IS part of the solution.  Also, I happen to employ mostly women (registered nurses) and we work with primarily small and mid-sized businesses. In fact, 99% of all businesses in America are small businesses. My company is one of them. There is nothing better for me than being a part of meaningful, impactful work…providing solutions and support for people, employing diverse talent, and helping companies support their employees! I feel very blessed.Texas Wall Street Women is a non-profit networking group that supports its members in their career growth by offering valuable networking and educational opportunities. We also give back to our community through our partnership with the Young Women’s Preparatory Network that provides college preparatory education to underserved girls across Texas. We provide our entire programming with an all-volunteer staff who all have successful finance careers and still have time to volunteer to help other women achieve their goals.

Do you know a Limitless Leader making a difference in finance? We encourage you to share this with your mentors, friends, and colleagues so that we can celebrate their achievements and success by becoming a member of Texas Wall Street Women.
