Our Partnership

TXWSW is proud to be a statewide partner for the 11 public all-girls schools across Texas that are a part of the Young Women’s Preparatory Network (YWPN). YWPN starts and supports all-girls, college preparatory public schools in underserved communities across the state. Since being founded in 2002, an astounding 100% of YWPN students have graduated from high school and 100% have been accepted to college, a remarkable achievement given that nearly 60% of the YWPN students statewide are from economically disadvantaged homes. Even more phenomenal, YWPN reports a six-year college graduation rate that is TWO times the national average for students from similar economic backgrounds, besting even higher-income schools by 17 percentage points.

Investing in Students

Supporting YWPN is a winning investment in over 5,000 deserving young women in public schools (grades 6 through 12) across Texas. YWPN funding is used to supplement public school spending to enhance and ensure a successful educational experience for each student. The addition of the YWPN College-Readiness programming to the content provided by the local school district, produces dramatically higher standardized test scores, higher graduation rates and increased college attendance and persistence. The YWPN model maximizes the potential of public education and leverages public school tax dollars.

All students need encouragement, and since many of our students are economically disadvantaged and the first generation in their family to attend college, they also need role models. Volunteer your time to provide college-going perspective and moral support to an YWPN senior.
