TXWSW salutes its all-volunteer staff of women who are leaders in their field and make the time to contribute to our collective success. They lead by example and are generous with their time and resources in helping others. They are truly Limitless Leaders.

Texas Wall Street Women Volunteer Status: Dallas Networking Committee
Why did you choose to become a volunteer?
Upon attending my first TXWSW event many years ago, I was impressed by both the welcoming nature of its members and the broad range of ages and professional experience represented. Once I realized that the primary philanthropic objective of TXWSW was to support the Young Women’s Preparatory Network in Texas, I was sold.
How have networking groups like Texas Wall Street Women helped your career?
When I joined TXWSW years ago, I was transitioning from a career in investment banking to a career in wealth management. The counsel of several business leaders within the organization was invaluable as I chose my next steps. Now, as a volunteer and active member of TXWSW, I am privileged to assist others in similar career transitions by either connecting them to successful leaders in their new field or by encouraging them to volunteer in order to grow their own professional network.
What is your current favorite book or podcast regarding personal growth, female empowerment, and/or career advice?
My takeaways from reading Malcolm Gladwell’s 2013 book David and Goliath continue to shape how I interpret and react to life’s obstacles. Each one of us has our own personal and professional challenges, or “Goliaths”. It is how we perceive and respond to these hurdles that defines our success. In fact, Gladwell’s book suggests that supposed disadvantages such as family issues, social inequities and disabilities can actually propel us further than perceived advantages, thus encouraging us to find a sense of beauty and personal fulfillment in our challenges.Texas Wall Street Women is a non-profit networking group that supports its members in their career growth by offering valuable networking and educational opportunities. We also give back to our community through our partnership with the Young Women’s Preparatory Network that provides college preparatory education to underserved girls across Texas. We provide our entire programming with an all-volunteer staff who all have successful finance careers and still have time to volunteer to help other women achieve their goals.
Do you know a Limitless Leader making a difference in finance? We encourage you to share this with your mentors, friends, and colleagues so that we can celebrate their achievements and success by becoming a member of Texas Wall Street Women.
