I am sure you are all aware of the devastation Houston and the Texas coast experienced over the weekend. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to all those impacted by Hurricane Harvey. In lieu of our normal Monday blog, I would ask each of you to take a moment to make a donation to the Red Cross or similar organization this morning. You can even text the word HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation – every little bit helps.
As you may be aware, many of the families hit by hurricane Harvey were relocated to San Antonio. We ask that during this trying time, we unite to support our families, friends and neighbors. You can do this by donating at the following locations:
- American Red Cross (210) 224-5151, 3642 E. Houston St. San Antonio, TX. 78219 – accepting only monetary donations
- Salvation Army 210-352-2000 or 210-352-2020, 910 N. Flores, San Antonio , TX. – accepting clothing and personal items
- San Antonio Food Band 210-337-3663 – 5200 Enrique M. Barrera Pkwy. San Antonio, TX 78227 – accepting along with food, diapers and wipes.
- TXWSW- San Antonio Chapter: please contact Gina O’May – TXWSW Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange for pickup if you have goods to donate but cannot make it to one of the donation centers.
Our thoughts and prayers are with our Houston chapter members and their families. We will also be postponing this week’s Houston event and will be in touch with a new date shortly.
We have some terrific events lined up for you this Fall and look forward to seeing you all at an event in 2017! To learn more about our 2017 events, please visit www.txwsw.com
