    Happy Monday!

The question for today: Is there an ambition gap between men and women in the workplace?

Rick Haglund explores this topic in an article http://www.mlive.com/lansing-news/index.ssf/2014/04/rick_haglund_is_there_an_ambit.html  in the Michigan Business Review and is a worthwhile read. What was just as interesting as the article were the reader comments. One reader suggested that female ambition is akin to bossiness – if we display it from a young age, it is not considered an attractive trait and it is something we learn to suppress.

And an older Businessweek article has an interesting take on the issue: http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2014-01-30/gender-inequality-in-the-workplace-what-data-analytics-says#p1

We have just some amazing events coming up over the next few months. Speaking of supporting girls – please take a moment to buy your ticket to our May Panel event in Dallas. We have a fabulous panel of allocators from some of the biggest pensions in the country and you will not want to miss what they have to say about the markets. The event supports the college dreams of under-served girls across the state, and it is a chance to meet your fellow TXWSW members from across the state!

    See you all soon.

    Kind regards

    Christine
