Cool Thursdays at the Dallas Arboretum
Date: Thursday, October 2, 2008
Band: The Jo Jonas Band (Blues/Jazz)
Place: 8525 Garland Rd. (on the southeastern shore of White Rock Lake), at the Arboretum’s Martin Rutchik Concert Stage. Map:http://www.dallasarboretum.org/Visit/Driving_Map.htm
*When you arrive at the Arboretum, please make your way to the concert lawn. Two representatives from TX Wall Street Women will be at the concert site early to reserve a spot on the lawn for our group. Look for us at the back and center of the lawn, we will have a dollar sign shaped balloon to mark our spot.*
Time: The concert starts at 7:30 pm, but it is advised to get there by 6:30 pm to allow time to park and walk to the concert site (5-10 minute walk). Gates open as early as 6:00 pm. Parking is included in the price of the ticket, but it is limited, so carpooling is encouraged.
Cost: Tickets are $16 ($6 for Dallas Arboretum members). You will need to purchase your own ticket in advance. Tickets could sell out so order early! To purchase tickets, go to http://dallasarboretum-store.stores.yahoo.net/cothinti20.html.
What you need to bring: The venue is ideal for picnics so bring your coolers and/or picnic baskets. (If you bring a cooler, consider one on wheels as the walk to the stage is not short). Please also bring your own blankets or lawn chairs. This will be a VERY casual event! Pack a picnic dinner for yourself or coordinate with your fellow Wall Street Women to share a bottle of wine and some cheese. It’s totally up to you! Don’t have time to pack your own picnic? No problem! Eddie Deen’s BBQ provides boxed dinners at the event (brisket sandwiches, wraps, salads, pastas, desserts, soft drinks, etc.) for purchase. The only thing they don’t sell is alcohol, but you can bring your own wine, beer, etc.
Please RSVP by Monday, September 29th if you plan to attend so we will know how much area to rope off. We look forward to seeing you there!
