Claire Hetherington Darr
Claire graduated from SMU School of Law in 2002, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif, the Barristers, and Editor in Chief of The International Lawyer. She also received an LLB (Honors) degree in law from the University of Northumbria, UK.
Prior to joining Newhouse + Noblin, Claire was Assistant General Counsel at Jasper Ridge Partners (formerly, Oak Hill Investment Management), a private wealth management firm with over $10 billion in assets under management. Claire has significant experience across all major asset classes, including private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, real estate, natural resources, public equity and fixed income. Prior to her time in-house, Claire was an Associate in the Corporate and Investment Funds practice groups of Haynes and Boone, LLP with extensive experience advising clients in all aspects of fund formation, SEC registration, and compliance program administration. While at the law firm Claire was an active member of the recruiting committee and was selected to lead the firm’s recruiting program for the corporate group. While in-house, Claire was also involved in the hiring and recruitment process for many positions across the asset management business, including compliance, tax, and investor relations, and was involved in the negotiation and structuring of executive level employment agreements.
Claire is a Founder and Board Member of Texas Wall Street Women, a non-profit exclusive peer network of professional women in the finance industry committed to making a difference in their community and to developing and growing professionally.
Claire’s experience at a major law firm and prominent investment firm gives her unique insights into the needs of our clients and the concerns of candidates in the investment fund and asset management business. Claire specializes in investment industry recruiting and leads Newhouse + Noblin’s financial services division, in addition to legal recruiting in other industries.
