Happy Wednesday!

We have our 10th annual State of the Markets coming up on Thursday, April 25th, 2019 in Dallas. This year we are honored to have the legendary Alice Gould and CIO of the Year TJ Carlson joining us. With the recent market turmoil, you will not want to miss this event! Sponsorship packages are available. Please reach out to Bianca King at developmentdirector@txwsw.com  to learn more.

Last weekend at the American Economic Association’s annual event, top women in the field shared their stories of harassment and discrimination and no less than Ben Bernanke acknowledged that the industry has a problem. To quote Mr. Bernanke: “unfortunately, a reputation for hostility toward women and minorities.” As my readers know, professions that have a lack of diversity do not perform as well, so this may be why economists get it so wrong much of the time. The full article can be found here.

The next article is an interview with Julie Sweet, CEO of Accenture. Ms. Sweet shares how she turned Accenture’s consulting model on its head to make them more valuable to clients, and how she approaches diversity – namely with a game plan. The full article can be found here.

Corporate reorganizations are accelerating, not only to cut costs, but more often to respond to changing markets. What does this mean for staff? It turns out that hidden in periods of disruption and uncertainty lies opportunity for those who know how to adapt. The full article can be found here.

I would ask each of you to consider corporate sponsorship of TXWSW. Benefits include attendance at our flagship events and recognition for your firm. To learn more, you may find our sponsor information here. Additionally, we would be happy to create a custom sponsorship for you. Please contact Bianca King at developmentdirector@txwsw.com

Kind regards

Christine
