    Happy Tuesday:

Happy New Year to you all! January 1, 2018 marks TXWSW’s 10th birthday! In honor of our ten-year anniversary, we have some wonderful events in store for you including a series of celebratory events in August. We also want to celebrate by recognizing our remarkable members and will ask you to nominate one of your fellow members to be honored! Please send your nominations to developmentdirector@txwsw.com.

January is traditionally time for resolutions. The first article explores the phenomenon of why trying new things is so hard even though experimentation can bring great reward. The author postulates that the act of experimentation is one of humility – that there is no way to know something different without trying it. The article makes for good reading and can be found here.

Huge congratulations to Sallie Behnke and Christine Ashmore on their well-deserved recent press. The full article can be found here.

The next article underscores TXWSW’s commitment to girl’s education. Adena Friedman is the first female CEO of a major US stock exchange. In a recent profile she shares how attending an all-girls school set her up for career success. The full article can be found here.

Lastly, to help us celebrate our anniversary, I would ask each of you to consider corporate sponsorship of TXWSW. Benefits include attendance at our flagship events and recognition for your firm. To learn more, you may find our sponsor information here. Additionally, we would be happy to create a custom sponsorship for you. Please contact Bianca King at developmentdirector@txwsw.com.

We have some terrific events lined up for you in 2018 including our ten-year anniversary celebrations! We look forward to seeing you all at an event in 2018! To learn more about our 2018 events, please visit www.txwsw.com.
