    Happy Friday!

Celebrating our Limitless Leaders: today we honor Anca Ion. Anca is Deputy Director of Internal Investments at Texas Treasury, Chairman of the Austin Education Committee and a TXWSW Board Member.  Read more about why she gives back: https://txwsw.com/limitless-leaders/

We have all heard of the Pink Tax where women pay more for goods and services than men do, and apparently that extends to banking services as well. A recent Bloomberg article notes that women pay on average 18% more than men do. The authors noted that the increase in banking fees paid by women are a direct result of the gender pay gap – because women have less in their bank accounts, they are more likely to incur fees. The full article can be found here.

On the subject of money, the next article tackles the subject of how to manage a two-career marriage. Today over 50% of marriages are composed of dual-career couples and the number rises to 63% for married couples with children, so juggling two work schedules with household and family schedules is becoming the new norm. The full article can be found here.

Finally, 2019 marks the first year where women are the majority of the college-educated workforce. This matters because having a college degree is highly correlated with income levels. While women are less than equal in many facets of society, the balance of power should shift with this milestone. The full article can be found here.

You may notice a new addition to our homepage. We have created the Limitless jewelry line to both inspire women and help us in our philanthropy mission of supporting the Young Women’s Preparatory network. Proceeds from the purchase of the Limitless charm go directly to the Young Women’s Preparatory Network. Designed for us by one of the nation’s preeminent jewelry manufacturers, this beautiful, inspirational charm comes in both silver and 14 carat gold and can be worn every day on a bracelet or necklace. Please help us support these deserving students while inspiring all the wonderful women in your life.

I would ask each of you to consider corporate sponsorship of TXWSW. Benefits include attendance at our flagship events and recognition for your firm. To learn more, you may find our sponsor information here. Additionally, we would be happy to create a custom sponsorship for you. Please contact Bianca King at developmentdirector@txwsw.com

    Kind regards

    Christine
