Happy Friday!

Recent studies show that most folks return from a weekend with the same fatigue and stress levels that they left with on Friday. The first article explains how we approach our weekends can have a big impact on improving stress levels. The full article can be found here.

A recent Gallup poll noted that only 59% of Americans say that women are respected in the US which puts American women at the bottom out of a list of 21 countries. The study noted that perceptions of respect are closely tied to how respected and safe people feel. The full article can be found here. This survey follows a recent NY Times article about the increase in female solo travelers and the violence they have encountered during those travels. The quote from the article that struck me is “we tell women what not to do to avoid being attacked instead of telling men not to attack women.” The full article can be found here.

You have most likely seen the headlines about the proposed all-female spacewalk that had to be cancelled because they could not find enough space suits for women The next article, written by a former navy pilot, explores the other challenges women face in fields where they are underrepresented and it makes for eye opening reading. The full article can be found here.

YWPN is looking for summer internships for its students!
