A Woman's View from the Street, 11/3/20

Happy Tuesday!

For those of you that missed our webinar with executive coach, Chasity Crawley, over the summer, she is back again this week presenting on the topic of leveraging relationships to get results. Pre-covid, we could expand and maintain relationships by attending events or meeting for lunch or coffee. Covid has not slowed the pace of work in finance, so we need to find different ways to work and Chasity will help us navigate the new playing field!

The first article, from the Wall Street Journal, covers the new rules for networking in the pandemic and how to effectively use social networking platforms to reach new people. The full article can be found here.

Speaking of social media platforms, I have heard from many of you that while LinkedIn is something we all have, it is not a regular part of your work flow, but I would argue that the pandemic has turned it into an essential tool. The next article notes the best way to use the site to your full advantage whether you are looking for a job or just want to expand your network. The full article can be found here.

Finally, this pandemic may be keeping us all working from home for a while, and while many of our members are adept at managing their careers in an office setting, working from home means a whole new way of managing both your workload and your career trajectory. Things like communication, visibility and interactions become even more important. The full article can be found here

I would ask each of you to consider corporate sponsorship of TXWSW. Benefits include attendance at our flagship events and recognition for your firm.  And most importantly, you help us support the life-changing work of the Young Women’s Preparatory Network. To learn more about YWPN, you can find a short video here. To learn more and sponsorship, you may find our sponsor information here. Additionally, we would be happy to create a custom sponsorship for you. Please contact Bianca King at developmentdirector@txwsw.com

Kind regards

Christine
