Berta Fogerson

Chief Academic and Accountability Officer, Young Women's Preparatory Network

Berta Fogerson is the Chief Academic and Accountability Officer for the Young Women’s Preparatory Network based in Dallas, Texas. Berta works directly with teachers and campus leaders in the nine YWPN schools providing mentoring for campus leaders, professional development opportunities, curriculum and program support, and strategies for implementing and sustaining the framework of the YWPN School Model. She oversees instructional initiatives to ensure that they align with the needs of the schools and with the Network’s core values of: College Readiness, Leadership, and Personal Wellness.

Mrs. Fogerson is a first-generation college graduate. She earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education from Texas Tech University; and in 2017, she retired from a 38-year career as a public-school educator, after holding positions as a teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction. Her passion for working with students led her to what she considers her most significant career accomplishment: serving as Principal of the Margaret Talkington School for Young Women Leaders, a Young Women’s Preparatory Network school in Lubbock. During her tenure as principal, the school received the National Blue Ribbon School designation, and she was one of eight principals in the nation to be honored by the Department of Education as a recipient of the Terrel H. Bell Award for Outstanding School Leadership. In mentoring young women, Mrs. Fogerson has concentrated her efforts to providing a variety of experiences to broaden the scope of opportunity, particularly for young women who are first in their families to pursue college degrees. She lives her conviction that higher education is the catalyst to position more females to take their place as future leaders and community advocates.

Psyche Terry

Co-Founder and CEO, UI Global Brands

Psyche Terry, Beauty Boss and Beauty Queen, most recently crowned America’s Most Beautiful, 2022 Mrs. Texas is a fashion and beauty expert and a co-founder and CEO of UI Global Brands, a global manufacturer and nationwide marketer of consumer products with its keystone clean beauty brand, Urban Hydration.

A seasoned executive, creative thought leader, and advocate for education, Terry funds college scholarship programs for students majoring in business at the Haworth College of Business. She also sits on the board of directors for both the Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County and the WMU Alumni Association Board. She has been honored as Woman of The Year, Economic Empowerer of the Year, Outstanding Young Alumni, and Philanthropist of the Year, as well as being named one of the Top 25 Moguls and Influencers to Know. Psyche has done countless local and national media interviews including being featured in Good Morning America, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, The Steve Harvey Show, ESPN and Fox News.

Terry holds an MBA from the University of Nevada Las Vegas Lee Business School, and a BA from WMU Haworth. She is a wife of nearly 20 years, a mother of three, and fitness lover. Psyche enjoys spending time reading biographies, watching marvel movies, learning about new fashion and beauty trends, dancing, roller skating, and hanging with her kids and their new puppy. In her spare time, she teaches Zumba weekly and is also a certified fitness instructor.

A self-proclaimed “better maker,” Terry, and her husband started Urban Hydration to provide better-made packaged products for dry skin and hair. Founded as a small online store in 2010, today Urban Hydration products are sold in more than 30,000 retailers across the nation.

Driven by a dedication to community, giving back, and saving the planet through clean beauty, Urban Hydration committed to providing clean drinking water for communities in need through a keystone partnership with WATERisLIFE in 2016. With each purchase of an Urban Hydration product, one gallon of water is donated to a community without ready access to clean drinking water. Through an outpouring of consumer support, Urban Hydration generously contributed to the construction of four clean drinking water wells.

Janice Davis​

Dallas Office Managing Partner, Morgan Lewis​

An experienced corporate attorney, Janice Davis brings more than 30 years of corporate experience to her practice, striving to create practical solutions for her clients’ complex business relationships, legal issues, and other challenges. Janice advises on a variety of commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, divestitures, software license agreements, corporate financing, private placements, alliance arrangements, reorganizations, recapitalizations, management and leveraged buy-outs, venture capital and private equity investments, and securities law compliance.

In her M&A practice, Janice represents public and private companies, as well as private equity firms, in diverse cross-border and domestic transactions. Janice also has a particular interest in guiding clients through the formation and financing of early stage and emerging growth companies. She routinely advises corporate clients and other entities on governance, fiduciary duties, and change of control and related matters. Janice’s practice includes a wide-ranging industry experience, with a particular focus representing clients in the healthcare, technology, retirement communities, and manufacturing sectors.

Before joining Morgan Lewis, Janice was a partner at another global law firm, where she served as co-chair of its technology transactions department. While there, she gained a unique perspective on legal matters as a result of her work on a part-time seconded basis at a portfolio company of one of that firm’s private equity firm clients, handling all board matters, integrating and organizing the outside legal teams, negotiating all contracts, and managing all insurance risk matters. She was also seconded at one of the top accounting firms in the United States, where she saw through all corporate matters, M&A transactions, and negotiated more than 250 contracts on behalf of its consulting division.

Tina Hernandez

Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Sub Saharan Opportunity Fund

Tina is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of the Sub Saharan Opportunity Fund (SSO). Tina has over 20 years of experience in the hedge fund industry, with specific focus and expertise in the Credit/Capital Structure trading and risk management space. Prior to co-founding SSO, Tina was Director of Operations and Investor Relations at Cannae Capital Management, a Dallas-based high yield/distressed hedge fund. Preceding Cannae, Tina was a Convertible Arbitrage Trader and later COO of Tugar Capital Management, a Convertible Arbitrage hedge fund.

Prior to Tugar, Tina worked at Arbitex Asset Management, a $1.3 billion Convertible Arbitrage hedge fund, where she modeled convertible bonds and managed separately managed accounts in tandem with the flagship fund. Tina was also Senior Trader with Avalon Global Asset Management, a $120 million global hedge fund specialized in technology, consumer products, and healthcare in San Francisco, where she managed all trading and risk management responsibilities. Prior to 2000, Tina was a business analyst and trade specialist at Montgomery Asset Management, a $13 billion emerging markets mutual fund in San Francisco.

Tina graduated from Cornell University with a BA in Government. She is an active member of Texas Wall Street Women and the Texas Hedge Fund Association. She is also a former Advisory Council Member for the Young Women’s Preparatory Network (YWPN). Tina is Series 65 licensed and was Series 7 and 63 licensed, both expiring in good standing.

Ami Desai

Chief Financial Officer, VP of Finance, Take Command

Ami Desai is a seasoned finance executive who currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Take Command Health, an insurance technology company based in Dallas. Prior to joining Take Command in 2021, she held senior finance positions at Stackpath, Topgolf, and other high-growth companies.  She holds an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and an undergraduate business degree from the University of Texas, Austin. 

Kyle Davis

Partner, Member of the Board of Directors, Locke Lord

Kyle Davis is a member of the Firm’s Board of Directors. She provides counsel in a variety of commercial real estate and finance transactions. Kyle represents banks, insurance companies and other institutional borrowers and lenders in commercial construction and term loans secured by industrial parks, senior health care facilities, multifamily projects, office buildings, retail shopping centers and condominium projects. She also regularly assists clients in the acquisition, asset management and disposition of various types of real property assets. Additionally, Kyle has extensive experience in joint ventures, commercial leasing, health care, transportation and hospitality transactions as well as representing developers in connection with the construction and development of multifamily, retail, industrial and mixed-used projects.

Neha Patel

IT Advisory Partner in Charge, Weaver

Neha Patel, CPA, CISA, has 16 years of experience in public accounting and internal audits, with an emphasis on governance, risk and compliance projects. She specializes in delivering system and organization control (SOC) audits, IT audit services and other technology consulting services. She has extensive experience leading outsourced and co-sourced internal audit engagements for publicly traded and privately held companies across multiple industries, from financial services to oil and gas. As the firm methodology leader for SOC audits, she is deeply experienced with the integration of financial reporting and technology services.

Neha is an active participant in numerous industry associations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), ISACA and the Texas Bankers Association (TBA). She speaks frequently on the subject of third-party risk assessment, effective vendor management and SOC reporting. In 2019, Neha was selected as a member of the Dallas Regional Chamber’s Executive Women’s Roundtable, an elite organization of top executives. She earned a master’s in professional accounting and a bachelor of business administration in accounting with a minor in management information systems from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.

Diane Tobin​

Chief Operating Officer, CH Investment Partners

Diane Tobin serves as Chief Operating Officer of CH Investment Partners.  In this role, Diane oversees the internal operations and accounting/finance functions of the group.  Prior to joining the firm in 2018, Diane spent 20 years at USAA with a focus on investments.  During her tenure at USAA, she managed the investments of the employee benefit plans and charitable foundations and was responsible for asset allocation, selection of third-party investment managers, and risk management.  Diane received a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996. She is a CFA charter holder and a CPA.

Kimberly Meyer

Chief Financial Officer, Billingsley Company

Kimberly Meyer, Chief Financial Officer of Billingsley Company, has over 20 years of real estate experience in accounting, finance, and all areas of executive management. She has directed accounting and operational departments and structured staffing levels to maximize organizational efficiency, profitability, and strong internal controls. In addition to her role at Billingsley, Mrs. Meyer was the Treasurer of The Chiapas Project, a Texas 501(c)3 that raises funds for the Grameen Foundation, an organization fighting world poverty through microfinance initiatives.

Prior to joining Billingsley, Kimberly was the CFO of Brook Partners, partner in various private real estate investments and served as a four-year executive board member of the West End Association, an organization dedicated to facilitate the growth and evolution of the Dallas Historic West End District.

Mrs. Meyer started her career in public accounting in the real estate audit/consulting group at Ernst & Young with clients including Trammell Crow Company, Paragon Properties, Prentiss Properties, GE Capital, JPI, Westwood Residential, Accubank Mortgage, and the RTC.

Kimberly graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with a BBA in Accounting and obtained her CPA designation in 1993.

Dotti Reeder

Managing Director, Tolleson Wealth Management

Dotti Reeder, CPWA®, serves as a Managing Director on the Client Advisory Team at Tolleson Wealth Management. She provides a strategic wealth management process for clients by identifying and implementing strategies that meet each client’s investment, financial, tax, philanthropic, and wealth-transfer needs.

Before joining Tolleson Wealth Management, Dotti was a Managing Director with JP Morgan Private Bank where she led a team of banking, investment, fiduciary, and wealth planning specialists in designing and implementing customized wealth management strategies for J.P. Morgan’s most significant individual and tax-exempt clients. Her additional experience with JP Morgan Private Bank included providing investment management and trust administration services to private clients. Prior to joining JPMorgan Private Bank, Dotti worked for 10 years as a municipal bond trader and underwriter with BankOne and Kidder Peabody & Co.

Dotti earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and began her career as a staff accountant in the audit division of KPMG. She serves on the boards of the following organizations: Executive Women of Dallas, Business Council for the Arts, Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, and Wesley-Rankin Center Foundation.

Evelyn Henry Miller, CPA

CFO and Board Director for TDIndustries

Evelyn Henry Miller is a seasoned, highly regarded corporate executive with extensive, enterprise-wide experience in publishing, logistics, technology, construction, healthcare, and telecommunications industries with multibillion dollar, public and privately held companies. Miller has a proven track record of success in scalability, mergers and acquisitions, strategic cost reduction, operations analysis, and technology infrastructure solutions. Having held a continuously active CPA license for decades, early experience in public accounting and decades of finance, accounting and GAAP experience, Miller is proficient as a financial expert.

Miller currently serves as CFO and Board Director for TDIndustries, one of America’s premier mechanical construction and facility service companies, and recently rolled off the board for DentaQuest, the second largest oral health services company in the U.S., post the sale of the company to Sun Life. She served as a strategic advisor to the CEO of DentaQuest on many fronts, including the path to evaluating strategic alternatives, resulting in increased valuation and an attractive, sustainable business model. Miller served on the compensation committee for DentaQuest, chaired the finance, investments, mergers and acquisitions committee and led the special transaction committee overseeing the sale. Miller remains on the board of CareQuest, the former sister company of DentaQuest. CareQuest, is a multibillion-dollar enterprise focused on oral health. Miller currently serves as audit committee chair and as a member of the compensation committee for CareQuest.

Miller previously served as EVP for imc2, a marketing services company and for several years prior held the position of EVP for A.H. Belo and The Dallas Morning News, with responsibility for Finance, Information Technology and Administration, as well as leading two business units.

Miller has held several other high-profile finance roles with BancTec, Inc., CellStar Corporation, Ryder Systems, Inc. /Aviall, Inc. and KPMG LLP. Miller has been honored as one of “Two Thousand Notable American Women” and inducted into the “Black Women’s Corporate Hall of Fame.” In recognition of her achievements, Miller was voted “Outstanding CFO for Mid-Size Public Company” by D Magazine; Women in Business Award – Dallas Business Journal; Top 15 Business Women in Dallas – National Women’s Council; Dallas Power 50 – Texas Diversity Council; Executive of the Year – Construction Financial Management Association and Humanitarian of the Year – Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.

As a servant leader, professionally and personally, Miller has a well-established track record of community service. Miller served as the President of The Dallas Morning News Charities, whose mission is to serve the hungry and the homeless. Furthermore, Miller served almost ten years, including on the Executive Committee, with the Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity. Miller currently serves as a board member of Dallas CASA and is a founding board member and former board chair of the Young Women’s Preparatory Network, whose mission is to support single-gender, college-preparatory, public education in Texas. In addition to the countless men and women Miller has mentored along the way who have gone on to achieve great success, one of her proudest achievements is her work with the Young Women’s Preparatory Network, where approximately 8,000 girls are being educated and prepared for a life of leadership in its ten schools across the State of Texas. Since 2009, the network has graduated over 1,000 young women, all of whom were accepted into college, with some currently pursuing their Masters and Doctorates.

Evelyn is most passionate about her faith, family, and friends and desires to live a life of intention with purpose and joy.
