Dear All:
Please let me break into your Tuesday morning with a must read that is a game changer. The title and subheading say it all – The Confidence Gap – Evidence shows that women are much less self-assured than men – and that to succeed, confidence matters as much as competence by Katty Kay and Claire Shipman can be found here: http://www.theatlantic.com/features/archive/2014/04/the-confidence-gap/359815/
This article reminds me of a conversation I had with a very prominent headhunter last week. She told me of two candidates she sent in for a CFO role – a woman who was more qualified and less confident in her abilities and a man with a shorter resume and more confidence. The man got the job. The good news is that confidence can be learned, so take a moment to read this!
We have just some amazing events coming up over the next few months. Speaking of supporting girls – please take a moment to buy your ticket to our May Panel event in Dallas. We have a fabulous panel of allocators from some of the biggest pensions in the country and you will not want to miss what they have to say about the markets. The event supports the college dreams of under-served girls across the state, and it is a chance to meet your fellow TXWSW members from across the state!
See you all soon.
Kind regards
Christine
