Melisa A Denis

MELISA A DENISDuring the day Melisa serves as KPMG’s Partner-in-Charge of Global Mobility Services (“GMS”) in Dallas bringing more than 28 years of international tax and human resource consulting services to her clients.  She serves as the Dallas/Oklahoma/Arkansas Consumer and Industrial Area leader.  Melisa also serves as the overall global lead partner on four multinational corporations tasked with bringing firm-wide resources throughout KPMG and its international affiliates to her clients.
Melisa was instrumental in the creation of KNOW – (KPMG’s Network of Women) established to help recruit and retain more than 600 females in the Dallas office. Melisa is passionate about mentoring and helping women.  Taking this passion of helping women outside of KPMG, she began a non-profit organization to navigate executive women to the boardroom.  In 2009 Melisa founded The Board Connection, an organization dedicated to increasing the number of women serving on corporate boards and in the executive suite.  The organization identifies and connects accomplished women in the state of Texas to develop a pathway to the boardroom.  Focusing on executive women the organization provides programming and development opportunities to help them achieve their goal of serving as a director on a corporate board.  In 2010 The Board Connection was admitted to join ION (InterOrganization Network) an alliance of fourteen national business organizations to help advance women to the boardroom.
Melisa serves on the KPMG Women’s Advisory Board.  She served as the chairman of the board of Faith Christian School.  She was elected to the board of directors of Enactus (formerly known as Student In Free Enterprise).  She also served on the board of directors of the University of North Texas Foundation.  She is the co-chair of Women Corporate Directors.  Melisa served as the CFO and represented the America’s on the Global Expatriate Management Board of KPMG.
In 2009 Melisa was named as one of DFW’s Top 25 Changemakers by the Dallas Business Journal Women in Business Awards program.  In 2012 she was recognized as a w2wlink Ascendancy Award winner.
She is a CPA and frequent speaker at many local and international business organizations. Melisa has written several articles about women in the board room.  She has a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Taxation from the University of North Texas.  Melisa is married with two children (Longhorn and Aggie)!
